Cheerful Daisy Creative LLC has been a long time in the making…sixty years to be exact!
Ever since I was a little girl, I have enjoyed crafting and creating unique items, as well as gifting many of those creations to friends and family. My mother and my maternal grandmother both had great influence over my crafting journey. They were the first people to teach me how to sew, embroider and knit, and they were both prolific makers in their own right. Through their support and guidance, I developed the courage to try new things, learn from my mistakes, and never give up, as well as an appreciation for all things handmade. And when I became a mom, I passed along these skills and values to my daughter as well.
In 2020, amid the economic uncertainty of the pandemic, I decided to launch an Etsy shop to make and sell cotton face masks. It didn’t take long before the shop was off and running, and I quickly added other handmade items, such as crystal bracelets and hand-knit scarves. My daughter Holly joined in and started making items for the shop as well. Together, we continue to hand make all of the items for sale. The shop has grown considerably over the years and now has 158 followers, almost 400 five-star reviews, and over 900 sales. Not bad for a “side hustle”!
Building on the success of the Etsy shop, I wanted to expand the business into a online resource to inspire others to tap into their creative potential, like my mother and grandmother did for me. They were the original daisies, and I am proud to carry on their legacy by bringing inspiration to a whole field of new daisies!
Daisies have long been a symbol of new beginnings, joy and cheerfulness, so it was fitting choice for the new business name and logo. They have been around for a very long time, and have been immortalized in literature and art. Daisies often flourish in spite of adversity and can grow almost anywhere - qualities I both admire and find very inspirational. And they remind us to always “keep looking up”.
I am so excited to share new content on the website, like original DIY projects and an inspirational blog, along with a convenient way to shop our handmade items. We are also working on plans for expanding our online business into in-person workshops, retreats and shopping events. We look forward to connecting with our followers in person and having the opportunity to share our love of all things handmade!
